So here we are: August of 2009. Can you believe it? This summer has flown by for me. Between running 4 summer camp sessions plus my other jobs and getting ready for my big move later this month, it didn't even feel like summer.

Now, there are only 2 weeks left until I move to Ohio.. And I couldn't be more excited and nervous all at the same time. It's going to be a big change. I just bought my first car - so I won't have to rely on public transit for once - I'll be rooming with 4 people and renting a small room. I'll be working in an elementary school as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the year, and I just found out that my program director lived in the same part of Brazil as me for 22 years and speaks fluent Portuguese!

Moving day is August 24th, but before I settle in for the year, I'll be driving out to visit my dad and family. Then I move my stuff into my apartment and the next day is Orientation!

I am looking forward to meeting new people and getting familiar with a new city.
